Recover a crashed Autostar unit.

While attempting to upgrade the firmware version on my Autostar the Belkin USB to Serial adapter I use on the notebook computer decided to dump on me. This is a bad thing when flashing the firmware. After I powered the Autostar back on all it did was display garbage and the computer would not recognize it existed.

Fortunately there is a way out.

1. Power off the Autostar unit.
2. Press and hold the Enter key and the scroll down key on the Autostar.
3. Turn on the Autostar while holding both the keys down.

This is an interesting way to recover since it nearly requires three arms to accomplish.  The good news is that it works.  The display will show "FLASH LOAD READY" and the computer should be able to reload the firmware.
